This is the official website for Dr Francesca Maclean – a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion (D&I) in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM). Francesca’s vision is to make STEM a diverse and inclusive environment for everyone – from schools, through to university, and industry career destinations.
Wherever she goes, Francesca influences people through her engaging, articulate, and collaborative communication style. She has a talent for understanding, explaining, and creatively solving complex problems and systems, which is perfectly suited to championing diversity and inclusion in STEM.
Francesca was selected for the 2018-19 Joan Kirner Young and Emerging Women Leaders Program run by Leadership Victoria recognising to her established leadership impact and future potential in achieving gender equity in STEM. She is also the co-Founder of Fifty50, 2017 ACT Young Woman of the Year, and one of 30 inaugural Science&Technology Australia’s Superstars of STEM. Francesca is a Consultant at the independent engineering firm, Arup, managing strategic projects within the Cities Economics and Planning team.
